Fix the Linux build under GCC 7.4.0 (#4761)

* Don't bother searching for XCTest on non-Apple platforms

* Force working directory to be in the project root

This makes the spec tests work when cmake is invoked with a relative filename.

* Fix build error on Linux/GCC 7.4.0
